A travel position is available for Special Education Teachers within Beaufort County School District, located in the Beaufort, South Carolina area. Multiple openings are available across onsite elementary and high school settings, offering opportunities to work directly in classroom environments specializing in special education.
Locations and Focus Areas:
- Okatie Elementary (Bluffton, SC) Early Childhood Special Education
- May River High School (Bluffton, SC) Severe and Profound Disabilities
Hours and Work Environment:
- Full-time, 37.5 hours per week
- Onsite roles requiring presence at assigned schools
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver specialized instruction tailored to students with diverse learning needs
- Develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs) for students
- Collaborate with school staff, parents, and specialists to support student progress
- Assess student performance and adjust teaching strategies accordingly
- Maintain compliance with district policies and special education regulations
Qualifications and Experience:
- Certified Special Education Teacher with appropriate state licensure
- Experience working with early childhood special education and/or severe and profound disabilities preferred
- Ability to adapt teaching methods to meet individual student needs
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
