Job Description

Make a positive difference every day working as a Special Education Teacher in a full-time, onsite opportunity for the upcoming school year. Located conveniently near Basehor, KS, this contract role runs from ASAP through 5/27/27, offering a chance to support students and collaborate with a dedicated team in a single school setting.

There are three specialized roles available at one location:
Middle School Special Education Teacher focusing on students with emotional disabilities
Middle School Special Education Teacher supporting students with functional or life skills needs
Elementary Special Education Teacher working with children with emotional disabilities

Qualifications:
Current and valid Kansas Special Education Certification (KS SPED Cert required)
Experience working with students who have emotional disabilities, as well as those with functional/life skills needs, is highly valued
Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team
Commitment to providing individualized and compassionate support to diverse student populations
Flexibility, empathy, and a solutions-oriented mindset
Previous experience in similar settings is a plus

Key Responsibilities:
Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) tailored to each students needs
Foster a supportive classroom environment focused on growth, development, and inclusion
Collaborate closely with educational staff, families, and specialists
Monitor and assess student progress, adapting strategies and techniques as necessary
Maintain accurate documentation and compliance with state and district regulations
