Job Description
A Special Education Teacher position is available in Bartlett, IL, to support students with intensive behavioral needs who require specialized educational environments. This full-time, onsite contract role involves working within a therapeutic day school setting where students are placed when public schools cannot sufficiently address their behavioral challenges.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide specialized instruction tailored to the educational and behavioral needs of students with disabilities.
- Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) in collaboration with a multidisciplinary team.
- Monitor student progress and adjust teaching strategies to meet evolving needs.
- Maintain a safe, supportive, and structured classroom environment.
- Communicate regularly with families, school staff, and external service providers regarding student progress and needs.
Qualifications:
- Valid LBS1 certification.
- Professional Educator License (PEL) is required.
- Experience working in special education settings, preferably with students requiring therapeutic support.
- Strong classroom management and behavioral intervention skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
