Step into a rewarding full-time role supporting students as a Teacher for the Visually Impaired! Key Qualifications:
- Valid North Carolina Teacher of the Visually Impaired (NC TVI) license is required
- Prior experience working with visually impaired students in educational settings preferred
- Skills in developing and implementing individualized education plans
- Ability to communicate effectively with students, families, and multidisciplinary teams
- Positive, solution-oriented mindset for overcoming challenges
What You'll Do:
- Serve a manageable caseload of approximately 35 students across a single school site
- Provide direct instruction, adaptations, and support tailored to diverse visual needs
- Develop, adapt, and monitor educational materials and technology for accessibility
- Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and support staff to ensure student success
- Maintain clear communication with families and contribute to IEP/504 planning
- Advocate for student needs and foster independence and self-advocacy skills
