Job Description

Key Qualifications:

  • Valid North Carolina Teacher of the Visually Impaired (NC TVI) license is required
  • Prior experience working with visually impaired students in educational settings preferred
  • Skills in developing and implementing individualized education plans
  • Ability to communicate effectively with students, families, and multidisciplinary teams
  • Positive, solution-oriented mindset for overcoming challenges

What You'll Do:

  • Serve a manageable caseload of approximately 35 students across a single school site
  • Provide direct instruction, adaptations, and support tailored to diverse visual needs
  • Develop, adapt, and monitor educational materials and technology for accessibility
  • Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and support staff to ensure student success
  • Maintain clear communication with families and contribute to IEP/504 planning
  • Advocate for student needs and foster independence and self-advocacy skills
