Qualifications:
- Valid Special Education teaching certification
- Bachelors degree or higher in Special Education or related field
- Previous experience as a Special Education Teacher preferred
- Familiarity with IEP development and implementation
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to adapt instructional methods to meet diverse student needs
- Understanding of various learning, emotional, and physical disabilities
Responsibilities:
- Deliver differentiated instruction tailored to students unique learning challenges and strengths
- Develop, revise, and monitor Individualized Education Plans (IEPs)
- Collaborate with general education teachers, aides, specialists, and parents to ensure ongoing academic and behavioral support
- Conduct assessments to determine student progress and needs
- Provide direct support and interventions in small group or one-on-one settings
- Create a safe, supportive, and engaging classroom environment
- Maintain accurate records of student progress, attendance, and IEP documentation
- Participate in professional development opportunities and staff meetings
