This opportunity is for a Special Education Teacher position based in Aurora, CO. This contract role involves working closely with students who have diverse learning needs, providing tailored educational support to help them achieve their full potential.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) in collaboration with students, families, and multidisciplinary teams
- Adapt instructional materials and teaching methods to meet students' unique learning styles and abilities
- Monitor and assess student progress, adjusting lesson plans as required
- Maintain detailed records of student performance and communicate regularly with parents and staff
- Foster a positive, inclusive classroom environment that supports social and emotional growth
- Collaborate with general education teachers and specialists to ensure appropriate accommodations and modifications
Qualifications:
- Valid teaching certification in special education
- Experience working with students with a range of disabilities
- Strong knowledge of special education laws, regulations, and best practices
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to develop creative, student-centered lesson plans
- Patience, empathy, and commitment to student success
