Job Description

Embark on a rewarding contract opportunity as a Special Education Teacher in a supportive educational community near Aurora, CO. This full-time assignment spans the school year, starting August 11 and ending May 21, at a vibrant high school dedicated to fostering a positive, inclusive environment for all students.

Applicants must hold a valid Colorado Department of Education (CDE) Special Education (SPED) License with a Generalist Endorsement. Only candidates with a professional teacher license (endorsed in Special Education Generalist, ages 5-21) or proof of a pending endorsement application will be considered. This position is fully on-site; remote or hybrid arrangements are not available.

Qualifications:

  • Colorado Professional Teacher License with Special Education Generalist (5-21) endorsement
  • Documentation proving application for proper licensure, if endorsement is pending
  • Substantial classroom teaching experience in special education
  • Proficiency with IEP processes, including drafting, implementation, and collaboration within multidisciplinary teams
  • Deep understanding of Specially Designed Instruction, alternative standards, and evidence-based instructional strategies

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver individualized and group instruction to students with varying abilities, using research-based practices
  • Create, monitor, and update Individualized Education Plans (IEPs), ensuring compliance and collaboration with the IEP team
  • Develop differentiated lessons and accommodations tailored to student needs
  • Work in close partnership with general educators, support staff, and families to support student learning and growth
  • Maintain accurate documentation and ongoing communication with stakeholders
