Step into a rewarding opportunity supporting students in special education as a full-time Special Education Teacher for the 2026-2027 academic year. This contract role will be based onsite at a single school, where new classrooms are being established to meet growing needs. With full-time hours, youll be actively engaged Monday through Friday, fostering growth and learning in a supportive educational environment.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelors degree required
- Holds an active Colorado Department of Education Certificate with appropriate endorsements for the assignment areas: Early Childhood Special Ed for grades P3-2 Special Education Generalist, Educationally Handicapped, Affective Needs, Trainable Child, Severe Needs, Cognitive, Moderate Needs, Profound Needs, Severe Needs Communication, or Physically Handicapped (as relevant to student needs)
- Demonstrated prior experience serving school-aged autism populations
- Flexibility to support various disability categories as determined in caseload assignment
- Must complete fingerprinting and background checks per district requirements
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver tailored instructional support for students with individualized education plans (IEPs)
- Adapt curriculum and teaching techniques to accommodate a spectrum of learning differences
- Collaborate with school staff, families, and multidisciplinary teams to maximize student success
- Maintain accurate records and implement district protocols
- Foster an inclusive, positive classroom culture that supports all learners
