This Contract Special Education Teacher role supports K-12 students within multiple schools across the Denver area, including Aurora, CO. The position requires full-time commitment throughout the current school year, with an expected assignment from ASAP through May 22, 2026. The role is on-site and involves working in various capacities to meet diverse student needs in special education.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide specialized instruction to K-12 students with a range of learning, cognitive, and affective needs
- Serve as Affective Needs Teacher, Learning Specialist, and Significant Support Needs (SSN) teacher in assigned schools
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to students goals and abilities
- Collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams, families, and school staff
- Monitor student progress and adjust instructional strategies accordingly
- Maintain compliance with Colorado Department of Education standards and district policies
Qualifications:
- Active Colorado Department of Education (CO DOE) Special Education certification required
- Experience working with special education populations in K-12 settings, ideally between 0 to 10+ years
- Strong ability to manage caseloads involving diverse student needs, including affective and cognitive challenges
- Excellent communication, organizational, and teamwork skills
- Comfortable working on-site within multiple schools assigned in the Denver area

- Rocky Mountain Elementary School (Affective Needs Teacher)
- Thunder Vista P-8 (Learning Specialist)
- Century Middle School (SSN Teacher for students with significant cognitive needs)
- Thornton Middle School (Learning Specialist)
