Job Description

Title: Special Education Teacher - Transition Classroom (Ages 18-22)

Location: Auburn Washington - This position is onsite only.

Schedule: Full-time, 37.5 hours per week

About This Position:

We are seeking an experienced Special Education Teacher to support a Transition Classroom serving students ages 18-22. This position focuses on helping young adults build independence, life skills, and readiness for post-school life. It is an onsite role in a school district that values a steady, seasoned presence in the classroom.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Providing instruction and support in a Transition Classroom for students ages 18-22
  • Developing and implementing instructional services and support as indicated in each student's IEP. 
  • Collaborating with school staff, families, and related service providers
  • Maintaining accurate documentation and ensuring compliance with state and district requirements
  • Creating a safe, structured, and supportive learning environment

Requirements:

  • Valid Washington Special Education (SPED) ESA
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant experience, specifically with individuals between the ages of 18 - 22
  • Experience supporting students with significant needs
  • Ability to work onsite for the full schedule
