Job Description

Make a meaningful difference in students lives by stepping into a vital Special Education role for the upcoming school year! This contract position offers the chance to work closely with high school-aged learners (grades 912) in a supportive school environment. Starting August 3, 2026, and continuing through May 27, 2027, you'll focus on a manageable caseload of 15 students in a CDC setting, promoting growth and success for each individual.

Key qualifications and experience:

  • Current Tennessee Special Education (SPED) license with 067 endorsement
  • Previous experience working in secondary special education environments is highly valued
  • Ability to plan, implement, and adapt individualized education programs (IEPs)
  • Skilled in fostering a positive, inclusive classroom culture
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills

Core responsibilities:

  • Deliver engaging, individualized instruction to high school SPED students
  • Collaboratively develop and implement IEPs aligned to students unique needs
  • Track and report on student progress and maintain accurate documentation
  • Work closely with paraprofessionals and related service providers as part of a multidisciplinary team
  • Engage in regular communication with families, offering insights and educational updates
  • Participate in school meetings, professional development, and any required training
  • Ensure compliance with all school, state, and federal guidelines
