Job Description
A full-time Special Education Teacher opportunity is available at an elementary school setting in Aspen, CO. This role involves working with a dedicated caseload of high-needs students, providing specialized instruction and support to help each child succeed academically and socially.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver individualized educational plans tailored to the unique needs of students with disabilities.
- Collaborate with general education teachers, families, and support staff to create a supportive learning environment.
- Utilize specialized teaching strategies and interventions to address diverse learning needs.
- Monitor student progress and adjust instruction as necessary to meet educational goals.
- Maintain accurate documentation and comply with all reporting requirements.
- Participate in team meetings, IEP development, and professional development opportunities.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Valid state certification in Special Education.
- Proven experience working with elementary-aged students with high needs.
- Strong understanding of special education laws, teaching methodologies, and behavior management.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage with students, parents, and staff effectively.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment and manage multiple responsibilities.
Location: Aspen, CO
Duration: Contract position from ASAP through the end of the current school year
Schedule: Full-time, W2 contract
