Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelors or Masters degree in Special Education or a related field
- Valid state certification/license in Special Education
- Prior experience as a special education teacher in a school setting preferred
- Strong knowledge of IEP processes, accommodations, and modifications
- Excellent communication, organization, and classroom management skills
- Ability to collaborate efficiently with general education staff, parents, and support professionals
- Committed to fostering a safe, positive, and adaptive learning environment
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs) tailored to each students goals and needs
- Adapt curriculum lessons and teaching strategies to support students academic and functional growth
- Assess students skills, track progress, and report outcomes to families and staff
- Collaborate with fellow teachers, therapists, and administrators to ensure cohesive support strategies
- Participate actively in IEP meetings, parent conferences, and school-based professional development
- Maintain accurate records of student performance, attendance, and communication
