Job Description

This full-time opportunity is set in an intensive resource room designed to provide tailored support to a dedicated group of six students in grades 1 through 6, with needs ranging from Down syndrome to non-verbal autism. The classroom is supported by paraprofessionals for daily routines and self-care, and youll collaborate with experienced service providers such as occupational therapists, speech-language pathologists, and school social workers.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Hold a valid Colorado Special Education License.
  • Proven experience teaching or supporting students with moderate to severe disabilities, including those who use AAC devices.
  • Strong understanding of individualized education plans (IEPs) and implementation strategies.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work alongside paraprofessionals and multidisciplinary service providers.
  • Compassionate, patient, and creative approach to fostering student growth and engagement.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver daily instruction tailored to individual student needs within a small classroom setting.
  • Support and guide students with both academic and adaptive skills development.
  • Closely collaborate with paraprofessionals and coordinate with related service providers for seamless delivery of therapies and services.
  • Track student progress, update IEP goals, and communicate regularly with team members and families.
  • Foster a positive, structured, and encouraging learning environment.
