Job Description

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

  • Bachelors and/or Masters degree in Special Education or related field
  • Valid Special Education teaching certification issued by NM SPED
  • Comprehensive knowledge of the subject matter and grade levels assigned
  • Skill in adapting instructional methods and materials to meet student needs
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills for effective interaction with students, families, and staff

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) tailored to each students unique strengths and needs
  • Foster a positive classroom climate that encourages growth, independence, and achievement
  • Collaborate with general education teachers, support staff, and administrators to provide comprehensive support
  • Maintain accurate records of student progress, attendance, and ongoing communication with parents
  • Utilize engaging teaching strategies to motivate, inspire, and challenge each learner
