Desired Skills & Qualifications:

  • Valid Special Education Teacher certification in Illinois
  • Experience working with students in K-12, early childhood, or adult transition programs
  • Strong knowledge of IEP processes, documentation, and implementation
  • Ability to adapt instructional strategies to meet diverse student needs
  • Excellent communication, organization, and collaboration skills

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide individualized and small group instruction aligned with each students IEP goals
  • Develop and implement lesson plans that foster engagement and promote academic/social-emotional growth
  • Collaborate with fellow educators, related service providers, and families to ensure cohesive support for students
  • Monitor progress and adjust strategies as needed to ensure students ongoing success
  • Maintain accurate records and contribute to IEP meetings as required
  • Support classroom management that encourages positive behavior and a safe learning environment
