A school district in Arlington Heights, IL, is seeking a Special Education Teacher for a contract position. This role involves delivering specialized instruction and support to students with diverse learning needs in a K-12 school setting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) tailored to each students abilities and needs
- Collaborate with general education teachers, specialists, and families to support student learning and inclusion
- Monitor student progress and adjust teaching strategies accordingly
- Manage classroom environment and behavior to promote a positive learning atmosphere
- Maintain accurate records and comply with all state and federal special education regulations
Qualifications:
- Valid Special Education teaching certification/license
- Experience working with students with disabilities in a school setting
- Strong knowledge of special education laws, instructional methods, and behavioral strategies
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
- Ability to differentiate instruction to meet a range of learning needs
