Special Education Teacher K-12 (Full-Time)
Location: Corpus Christi, TX
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Special Education Teacher to join our team for a full-time, 40-hour per week school-year position in Corpus Christi. This role supports students across K12 grade levels, with a focus on students with Autism Spectrum Disorder and Severe Behavioral Needs.
Position Overview
The Special Education Teacher will provide individualized instruction, behavioral interventions, and academic support to help students build meaningful progress in both functional and academic skills. This role requires strong classroom management, consistency with behavior support strategies, and a collaborative approach with school teams and families.
Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and monitor IEP goals and services
- Provide direct instruction to students with Autism and significant behavioral challenges
- Implement positive behavior interventions and supports (PBIS) and de-escalation strategies
- Differentiate instruction across K12 grade levels and ability ranges
- Collect and document student progress and behavioral data
- Collaborate with general education staff, related service providers, and administrators
- Maintain a structured, safe, and supportive classroom environment
- Communicate effectively with families regarding student progress and needs
Qualifications
- Valid Special Education teaching certification (Texas or eligible)
- Experience working with Autism Spectrum Disorder required
- Experience with severe behaviors strongly preferred
- Strong classroom management and crisis prevention/de-escalation skills
- Ability to adapt instruction across multiple grade levels (K12)
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
Schedule
- Full-Time, 40 hours per week
- Full school-year assignment
