Step into a dynamic elementary school environment dedicated to innovation and hands-on learning as an Emotional Behavior Disorder Center-Based Teacher. This contract role offers the opportunity to inspire and support students in kindergarten through fifth grade, within a specialty program renowned for its focus on mathematics, science, and engineering. Youll play a pivotal role in a school where children engage in creative problem-solving, including engineering and computer programming, thanks to Project Lead the Way Launch.
As the onsite specialist, youll collaborate with a passionate team to deliver individualized education plans, cultivate positive behavioral support systems, and foster resilience and emotional growth among students with unique needs.
Desired Experience and Qualifications:
- Active MN Teaching Certification (Tier 3 or Tier 4 required); application must include certification and current resume
- Experience teaching special education in elementary settings, preferably within an EBD (Emotional Behavior Disorder) center-based program
- Strong capacity for developing and implementing individualized education programs (IEPs)
- Ability to work collaboratively with other educators, specialists, and families
- Exceptional organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Sensitivity to diverse student backgrounds and needs
Primary Responsibilities:
- Lead daily instructional and behavioral interventions for a defined EBD caseload
- Develop, review, and maintain IEPs in coordination with multidisciplinary teams
- Monitor progress and adapt teaching strategies to support academic, emotional, and behavioral goals
- Foster an inclusive, supportive classroom environment
- Communicate regularly with families and school staff to ensure comprehensive support for each student
