Job Description

Make a meaningful impact by guiding young learners with diverse needs in an engaging elementary school environment. This full-time, onsite contract opportunity allows you to work closely with a dedicated support team and make a difference in the lives of K1st grade students identified with Autism Spectrum Disorder. Be at the heart of a classroom with a manageable caseload of 7 students, supported by two paraprofessionals and a robust special education team.

Qualifications & Desired Experience:

  • Valid Special Education Teacher certification with Autism Spectrum Disorder endorsement (required)
  • Experience working in elementary school settings, particularly with students in kindergarten or first grade
  • Strong collaborative skills for partnering with paraprofessionals and the broader SPED team
  • Ability to develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) targeted for children on the autism spectrum
  • Proficiency in adapting curriculum and employing evidence-based instructional strategies
  • Excellent communication skills with students, families, and staff
  • Must be able to commit to full-time, onsite attendance throughout the contract period

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver differentiated instruction and interventions tailored to students with autism in K1st grade
  • Collaborate with paraprofessionals and SPED colleagues to provide a supportive, structured, and inclusive classroom environment
  • Develop, monitor, and revise IEPs according to student progress and legal requirements
  • Foster social, emotional, and academic growth through engaging, personalized teaching
  • Liaise with families to maintain open, supportive communication about each students progress and needs
  • Participate in school meetings, trainings, and professional development initiatives
