Job Description

Full-time contract opportunities are available for passionate educators interested in supporting students with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) or Cognitive Impairment (CI). You'll work within dedicated elementary and high school classrooms, helping each learner reach their fullest potential through individualized instruction and compassionate guidance.

Positions include:

  • Two teachers for Elementary ASD-CI classrooms
  • One teacher for a High School ASD classroom
  • One teacher for a Resource Room

Assignments run from ASAP through June 2027, providing the chance to build strong relationships with students over multiple school years. Daily responsibilities focus on designing and delivering personalized lessons, collaborating with support staff and families, and maintaining accurate student records.

Requirements:

  • Current, active Michigan Special Education license in Cognitive Impairment (CI) or Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)
  • Experience or enthusiasm for supporting students in ASD or CI resource and classroom settings
  • Strong classroom management skills and a commitment to equity and inclusion
  • Ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams and communicate effectively with students, families, and colleagues
  • Dedication to ongoing personal and professional growth

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) tailored to student strengths and needs
  • Create a supportive, inclusive classroom environment promoting emotional and academic growth
  • Regularly monitor progress and adapt instruction as needed
  • Serve as an advocate for students, ensuring access and opportunity
  • Engage in professional development and maintain required documentation
