Qualifications and Preferred Experience:

  • Must hold a valid MN Special Education teaching certification; Tier 3 or 4 preferred.
  • Proven experience as a Special Education Teacher, especially in middle school settings.
  • Strong collaboration skills for co-teaching and lesson planning with general education staff.
  • Deep understanding of best practices for supporting students with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD).
  • Exceptional communication abilities to engage with students, families, and colleagues.
  • Skill in adapting curriculum and instruction to meet diverse learning needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Co-teach ASD Math classes within a middle school environment, ensuring inclusive and supportive learning for all students.
  • Develop, implement, and adapt Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).
  • Partner with general education teachers to modify lessons and classroom activities.
  • Use assessment data to inform instructional strategies and track student progress.
  • Foster a positive, respectful classroom culture that encourages student participation and engagement.
  • Provide consistent feedback to students and collaborate closely with families and support staff.
