In this role, youll take the lead in planning and implementing daily gym activities, ensuring every lesson aligns with each students Individualized Education Program (IEP). Your dedication to adaptive physical education will be key in fostering a positive, inclusive atmosphere where all students can thrive. The position also involves close collaboration with a supportive DAPE (Developmental Adapted Physical Education) team and diligent management of due process documentation, ensuring compliance and best practices.
The weekly schedule is thoughtfully structured: each day begins with two back-to-back classes at one site, while at the second location youll teach in the classroom two days per week. Desired Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree or higher in Special Education or related field
- Valid Special Education teaching license
- Experience developing and leading adaptive physical education lessons
- Strong organizational skills for due process and documentation
- Ability to adapt quickly between multiple school environments
- Collaborative mindset for working with colleagues, administrators, and families
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and deliver gym and classroom activities tailored to IEP goals
