Embark on a rewarding contract opportunity supporting elementary-aged learners as a Special Education Teacher in a center-based setting. This role, available immediately and extending through early June 2027, focuses on impacting the lives of approximately 11 students, with the potential for slight changes in caseload based on enrollment shifts. This full-time position offers the chance to develop meaningful relationships with students, school staff, and families, ensuring a collaborative approach to educational success.
Qualifications:
- Active Minnesota PELSB Special Education Teaching License (Tier 1 or Tier 2 accepted; Tier 3 or Tier 4 preferred)
- Current credential in Emotional or Behavioral Disorders (EBD)
- Experience working in center-based or similar elementary special education environments is highly valued
- Ability to adapt instruction and classroom management strategies to meet individual student needs
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills with educators, families, and support staff
- In-person teaching is required (virtual instruction is not permitted)
Responsibilities:
- Provide specialized instruction and support for students with emotional or behavioral disorders in a center-based elementary classroom
- Develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs), monitor progress, and document student achievements
- Collaborate with school teams, families, and related service providers to create a supportive learning environment
- Utilize evidence-based strategies for behavior management and differentiated instruction
- Maintain compliance with state regulations and district policies regarding special education services
