This part-time contract opportunity offers the chance to support learners at an alternative high school while working collaboratively within a dedicated and dynamic educational environment. Bring your expertise as a Special Education Teacher and help students achieve their graduation goals through tailored instruction and compassionate support.

What were seeking:

• Active Minnesota Special Education Teaching License (ABS, EBD, LD, or other related SPED endorsement)
• Previous experience in special education settings, ideally at the high school level or within alternative learning environments
• Strong classroom management and intervention skills, with an understanding of individualized education plans (IEPs)
• Ability to adapt to a blended instructional model (onsite and possible remote supports) to meet student needs
• Proficient in implementing trauma-informed strategies and positive behavior supports
• Passion for helping students develop social, academic, and life skills required for post-secondary success
• Excellent communication, collaboration, and organizational skills

Key responsibilities:

• Deliver engaging and differentiated instruction to students with diverse academic and behavioral needs
• Adapt curriculum and modify lessons in accordance with student IEPs and district standards
• Collaborate closely with general education teachers, school staff, related service providers, and families
• Maintain accurate documentation, progress monitoring, and reporting in compliance with state and federal guidelines
• Foster a supportive and inclusive classroom environment that champions student growth
• Communicate regularly with caregivers to celebrate progress and address ongoing needs

This position offers approximately 18.7520 hours per week throughout the full school year, providing meaningful flexibility for your schedule.
