Job Description

Take on an important role as a long-term substitute providing specialized support at the high school level. This full-time contract assignment begins at the start of the 2026/2027 academic year and continues through Thanksgiving, offering an opportunity to make a meaningful impact during a critical part of the school calendar. The focus is on supporting students with learning disabilities, particularly in the areas of reading intervention, executive functioning, and special education instruction.

Key Qualifications:

  • Current Minnesota Special Education Teaching License
  • Learning Disabilities (LD) licensure highly preferred
  • Proven experience supporting high school students in special education environments
  • Strong background in delivering reading interventions and supporting executive functioning
  • Experience with IEP development, implementation, progress monitoring, and academic accommodations
  • High school SPED experience and a demonstrated ability to work with executive functioning challenges are a plus
  • Ability to integrate smoothly into established teams and adapt quickly

What Youll Do:

  • Deliver targeted reading intervention and instructional support for students with learning disabilities
  • Provide executive functioning strategies to help students succeed academically and in daily routines
  • Collaborate with faculty and support staff to design and implement effective academic accommodations
  • Take responsibility for progress monitoring and IEP goal tracking
  • Foster an inclusive and supportive classroom environment

Assignment Details:

  • Contract, long-term substitute position
  • Full-time hours, Monday through Friday, 7:30 AM 3:30 PM
