Job Description

Make a meaningful impact working as a Special Education Teacher in a dedicated classroom designed to serve students with Developmental Cognitive Disabilities (DCD) and Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) for the upcoming 2026-2027 school year. This full-time, contract role offers the opportunity to collaborate with a passionate team in a supportive environment, working with a small group of approximately 6-10 students in one building.

This role is ideal for educators who have expertise in specialized instruction and thrive when helping students reach their fullest potential through individualized curriculum adaptation and strong relationship-building.

Key Qualifications:

  • Valid state licensure as a Special Education Teacher, with ASD or DCD endorsement (Tier 3 or Tier 4 only)
  • Experience or strong interest in working within a Setting 3 classroom
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills with students, staff, and families
  • Ability to develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
  • Adaptability, positivity, and a commitment to inclusive education

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver high-quality, evidence-based instruction tailored to student needs
  • Create and maintain a nurturing, structured classroom environment
  • Assess and track student progress while adjusting strategies as needed
  • Collaborate closely with other educators, paraprofessionals, and related service providers
  • Engage families in supporting student growth
  • Uphold compliance with all special education guidelines and documentation

Role Details:

  • Contract assignment from August 31, 2026, through June 4, 2027
  • 37.5 hours per week, Monday through Friday
  • Assigned to one building
  • Direct work with a group of 6-10 students in a Setting 3 environment
