In this full-time contract position, youll have the opportunity to work closely with a dedicated caseload of 1620 high school students, guiding them through targeted strategies to boost achievement and organization. Your day will begin at 7:30 AM and wrap up by 3:30 PM, leaving time for planning and interaction with a professional team.
What youll bring:
- Bachelors degree in Special Education or a related area
- Completion of a state-approved special education preparation program
- Valid Minnesota teaching license from the Professional Educator Licensing and Standards Board
- Demonstrated skills in Special Education core competencies and relevant licensure area (e.g., Learning Disabilities, ABS, EBD)
- Student teaching/practicum completed
- Strong understanding of IEP development and compliance
- Experience working with high school students, especially in reading intervention and executive functioning, preferred
- Collaborative mindset and effective communication skills with both special education and general education teams
Your responsibilities will include:
- Designing and delivering reading intervention and study skills instruction
- Supporting students in academic planning and organization
- Developing, implementing, and tracking IEPs
- Maintaining compliance with all district and state requirements
- Collaborating closely with school staff, families, and support teams
This assignment runs from September 2026 through Thanksgiving 2026, providing focused support during a crucial period in students educational journeys.
