Job Description

Make a difference supporting young learners as a Special Education Teacher for elementary-aged students in the Minneapolis area. This contract position serves one school, working with a focused K-5th grade resource caseload of 13 students. All student evaluations are already complete, so you can dedicate your full attention to instruction and IEP meetings for the remainder of the school year.

Your week will include a clearly defined schedule, allowing for strong work-life balance:

  • Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday: 7:30 AM 3:10 PM
  • Wednesday: 7:30 AM 4:10 PM
    Each day comes with an 80-minute block reserved for planning and a 30-minute lunch break.

What youll need to thrive in this role:

  • Valid Special Education teaching certification (preference for Reading endorsement but not required)
  • Experience planning and delivering instruction to elementary resource caseloads
  • Strong skills in IEP development and meeting facilitation
  • Ability to collaborate with team members and communicate professionally with families
  • Commitment to supporting students with diverse learning needs in an inclusive setting

Key responsibilities:

  • Provide individualized instruction and interventions aligned with each students IEP
  • Participate in and lead IEP meetings for your caseload
  • Adapt curriculum as necessary for student engagement and growth
  • Document student progress and maintain required records
  • Coordinate with general education staff to support student success
