This contract position offers a full-time role as a Special Education Teacher working with K-5 students in a resource setting. The caseload includes 13 students with completed evaluations, allowing the focus to be on delivering instruction and leading IEP meetings. Located in Andover, MN, this assignment provides a consistent schedule and the opportunity to contribute to a supportive learning environment.
Responsibilities include:
- Delivering specialized instruction tailored to individual education plans (IEPs) for K-5 students
- Leading and participating in IEP meetings to monitor and adjust student goals
- Collaborating with school staff to support student progress and compliance with education standards
- Maintaining accurate records and documentation related to student performance and services
Qualifications and experience:
- Valid Special Education Teaching certification; Reading endorsement preferred but not required
- Experience working with elementary-aged students in a special education setting
- Strong communication skills for working with students, families, and school teams
- Ability to manage a caseload independently with a focus on instruction and individualized support
Work schedule is Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday from 7:30 AM to 3:10 PM, and Wednesday from 7:30 AM to 4:10 PM. A 30-minute lunch break and 80 minutes of daily planning time are included within these hours.
This role does not include supervision by paraprofessionals or support staff.
