Job Description
A special education teaching position is available in Coon Rapids, MN, focused exclusively on serving students in Setting 4those with the highest behavioral challenges and most severe disabilities. This contract role runs from February 9, 2026, through June 5, 2026, with a schedule of 37.5 hours per week and a 30-minute unpaid lunch break.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct instruction and support tailored to students with significant behavioral and developmental needs.
- Implement individualized education plans (IEPs) in compliance with district and state guidelines.
- Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive support.
- Monitor student progress and adjust strategies for optimal learning and safety.
- Maintain detailed documentation and communication with families and staff.
Qualifications:
- Minnesota Tier 3 or Tier 4 teaching license in Special Education is required.
- Experience working with students exhibiting severe behavioral challenges in a Setting 4 environment.
- Strong understanding of positive behavioral interventions and supports (PBIS).
- Ability to manage a caseload independently with professionalism and care.
- Reliable transportation and willingness to commute to the Coon Rapids location.
