Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Valid teaching certification in Special Education
- Experience working with students in grades Pre-K through 12, or specific grade bands (K-5, 6-8, 9-12)
- Strong knowledge of individualized education plans (IEPs) and implementation strategies
- Ability to differentiate instruction for a variety of learning styles and abilities
- Background in teaching or supporting math curricula preferred
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills with colleagues, students, and families
- Flexibility to adapt to changing circumstances and needs within the school
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement, and monitor IEPs tailored to each students needs
- Provide direct instruction and support in inclusive, resource, or self-contained settings
- Collaborate with general education teachers to modify assignments and assessments
- Use data to assess student progress and adjust teaching methods accordingly
- Foster a safe, positive, and engaging classroom environment
- Participate in team meetings, professional development, and family conferences
- Promote advocacy, independence, and self-confidence in students
