A school is seeking a Special Education Teacher to join their team on a contract basis in Amherst, MA. This role focuses on providing essential educational support and individualized instruction to students with diverse learning needs.

Responsibilities include:

• Developing and implementing tailored lesson plans that accommodate students learning styles and abilities
• Collaborating with general education teachers, support staff, and families to create inclusive learning environments
• Conducting assessments to monitor student progress and adjusting instructional strategies accordingly
• Managing classroom behavior and fostering a positive, supportive atmosphere
• Participating in IEP (Individualized Education Program) meetings and maintaining accurate student records

Qualifications:

• Valid state Special Education teaching certification
• Experience working with students who have a range of disabilities
• Strong communication and organizational skills
• Ability to create and deliver differentiated instruction
• Commitment to student-centered education and collaboration
