Requirements and Desired Experience:
- Valid Special Education teaching certification
- Bachelors or Masters degree in Special Education or related field
- Recent experience in a school-based setting strongly preferred
- Ability to develop and implement IEPs and related documentation
- Competence in modifying general education curriculum to meet individual student needs
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills for working closely with students, families, and multidisciplinary teams
- Flexibility, patience, and creativity in adapting to varying classroom dynamics
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and deliver individualized instruction in alignment with students IEP goals
- Collaborate with general education teachers, aides, and related service providers to facilitate inclusive practices
- Foster a positive, engaging, and supportive classroom environment
- Conduct ongoing assessments and adjust instructional strategies accordingly
- Maintain clear and timely documentation of student progress and communication with caregivers
- Participate actively in IEP meetings and staff development sessions
