Requirements and Desired Experience:

  • Valid Special Education teaching certification
  • Bachelors or Masters degree in Special Education or related field
  • Recent experience in a school-based setting strongly preferred
  • Ability to develop and implement IEPs and related documentation
  • Competence in modifying general education curriculum to meet individual student needs
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills for working closely with students, families, and multidisciplinary teams
  • Flexibility, patience, and creativity in adapting to varying classroom dynamics

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and deliver individualized instruction in alignment with students IEP goals
  • Collaborate with general education teachers, aides, and related service providers to facilitate inclusive practices
  • Foster a positive, engaging, and supportive classroom environment
  • Conduct ongoing assessments and adjust instructional strategies accordingly
  • Maintain clear and timely documentation of student progress and communication with caregivers
  • Participate actively in IEP meetings and staff development sessions
