A full-time contract opportunity is available for a Special Education Teacher specializing in SPED to support an elementary school setting from mid-April through June. This role is ideal for educators licensed in Pennsylvania who are skilled in delivering specialized instruction and behavior management strategies to elementary-aged students.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide tailored special education services to elementary students within the assigned caseload.
- Utilize TACT-2 methods for behavior assessment and employ restraint techniques as necessary to ensure student safety.
- Collaborate with school staff to create and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).
- Maintain accurate records and documentation through both computer-based and web-based platforms.
- Communicate progress and behavioral observations to parents and interdisciplinary teams.
Qualifications:
- Valid Pennsylvania Special Education certification (N-12, N-8, or 7-12).
- Experience working with elementary-aged students in a special education setting.
- Ability to be trained in and effectively use TACT-2 behavioral assessment and restraint methods.
- Basic computer proficiency to operate CIU-20 programs including both desktop and web interfaces.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
Location and Schedule:
- Assignment located in Allentown, PA.
- Full-time hours per week.
- Contract duration from mid-April to June.
