Job Description

Three openings are available for Special Education Teachers to support K-12 students in Allentown, PA, and surrounding areas within Carbon and Lehigh Counties. These contract positions follow the school calendar, beginning ASAP and continuing through June 12, 2026 (tentative). The role requires 35 hours per week.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver individualized instruction and support to students with special needs.
  • Develop, manage, and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) in accordance with Pennsylvania special education regulations.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary school teams and families to support student progress.
  • Maintain thorough documentation and ensure compliance with relevant policies.
  • Utilize instructional technology and Microsoft Office tools to enhance learning.

Location Opportunities: Assignments may be located in various districts and are subject to change based on Intermediate Unit needs, including:

  • Lehighton and Lansford in Lehigh County
  • Center Valley, Allentown, and Orefield in Carbon County

Required Qualifications:

  • Active Pennsylvania Department of Education Special Education Certification (non-negotiable).
  • Proven experience with IEP development and implementation.
  • Strong classroom management and documentation skills.
  • Effective written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and instructional technology.
