A Special Education Teacher position is available for a contract role in the Allendale, MI area, serving early childhood through kindergarten students with cognitive impairments. This opportunity is ideal for a certified special education professional looking to support a focused caseload within a dynamic school setting.
Key Qualifications:
- Valid certification in Cognitive Impairments required
- Experience working with early childhood and kindergarten students
- Strong knowledge of IEP development, updates, and management
- Ability to attend and actively participate in IEP meetings
- Leadership skills to manage caseload and collaborate with lead teaching staff
Location:
- Allendale, Michigan
Work Schedule and Duration:
- Full-time, 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM
- Contract dates: May 18th through June, with return August through October
Responsibilities:
- Provide specialized instruction tailored to students with cognitive impairments within early childhood to kindergarten age range
- Develop, update, and maintain Individualized Education Plans (IEPs)
- Participate in IEP meetings and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams
- Case manage assigned students to monitor and support their educational progress
- Support lead teacher with additional administrative and instructional duties as needed
