Key Qualifications and Experience:

• Current New York State Special Education Teacher certification required
• Previous experience with K-12 special education caseloads is a plus
• Skilled in developing and implementing IEPs, conducting assessments, and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams
• Strong communication skills for engaging students, families, and staff
• Comfortable working both independently and as part of a larger educational team
• Fingerprinting required prior to start date

Primary Responsibilities:

• Oversee the assessment and evaluation of students, ensuring appropriate services are identified and delivered
• Provide direct instruction and support to a caseload of 20 students, tailored to their unique learning needs
• Attend and actively participate in IEP meetings, contributing to goal setting and progress monitoring
• Maintain accurate records and comply with all administrative requirements, with paid time for these indirect hours
• Collaborate with educators, specialists, and families to promote student success
• Paid travel time between locations when necessary
