Key Qualifications:

• Valid New York State teaching certification in Special Education (required)
• Previous experience in K-12 special education settings preferred
• Strong understanding of IEP development, direct instruction, and adaptive teaching strategies
• Excellent assessment, evaluation, and documentation skills
• Exceptional organizational abilities, especially for managing multiple students progress
• Ability to collaborate with team members and contribute to IEP meetings
• Fingerprinting clearance required prior to starting

Primary Responsibilities:

• Oversee tailored assessments and evaluations to determine individual student needs
• Deliver direct instruction and provide ongoing interventions for assigned students
• Attend and actively participate in IEP meetings, collaborating with families and multidisciplinary teams
• Maintain thorough and timely documentation for all student activities and progress
• Paid for any hours worked within the contracted timeframe, including IEP meetings and required admin time
• Travel time during the contracting period will be compensated
