Key Qualifications:
- Valid New York State teaching certification in Special Education (required)
- Previous experience in K-12 special education settings preferred
- Strong understanding of IEP development, direct instruction, and adaptive teaching strategies
- Excellent assessment, evaluation, and documentation skills
- Exceptional organizational abilities, especially for managing multiple students progress
- Ability to collaborate with team members and contribute to IEP meetings
- Fingerprinting clearance required prior to starting
Primary Responsibilities:
- Oversee tailored assessments and evaluations to determine individual student needs
- Deliver direct instruction and provide ongoing interventions for assigned students
- Attend and actively participate in IEP meetings, collaborating with families and multidisciplinary teams
- Maintain thorough and timely documentation for all student activities and progress
- Paid for any hours worked within the contracted timeframe, including IEP meetings and required admin time
- Travel time during the contracting period will be compensated
