Job Description
Make a lasting impact supporting students with diverse needs as a contract Special Education teacher in a high school adaptive classroom setting. Work collaboratively within a dedicated team to provide a nurturing and inclusive environment for learners, guiding them toward their highest potential through the remainder of the academic year.
Key Qualifications:
- Valid North Carolina Adaptive Special Education License
- Experience serving high school-age students with adaptive needs preferred
- Strong commitment to individualized education and differentiation
- Team-focused approach, eager to collaborate with other teachers
- Familiarity with IEP processes and adaptive classroom models
Your Responsibilities:
- Deliver engaging and tailored instruction to a caseload of 26 students, working closely with 2 additional SPED teachers
- Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Plans (IEPs)
- Adapt curriculum and teaching strategies to accommodate diverse learning styles and needs within the adaptive classroom
- Participate actively in staff meetings, team planning, and parent communications
- Foster a supportive, inclusive, and safe classroom space promoting growth and independence
Role Details:
- Contract position from April 13 through end of school year
- 37.5 hours weekly in one high school location
- Interview process via Zoom panel with the SPED Director
- Rapid decision-making for timely onboardingyour skills are needed urgently!
- Fingerprinting and standard onboarding required before starting
