Desired Qualifications:
- Current, valid Social Work license appropriate for school-based positions
- Experience working in K-12 educational settings (elementary, middle, or high school)
- Strong understanding of child and adolescent development, trauma-informed care, and multi-tiered systems of support
- Excellent communication, de-escalation, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to develop individual and group counseling interventions
- Comfortable collaborating with multidisciplinary teams and families
Role Responsibilities:
- Assess student needs and develop intervention plans to enhance academic and social success
- Provide direct social-emotional support through individual and group counseling sessions
- Advocate for student needs through coordination with teachers, administrators, and families
- Connect students and families with appropriate community resources and referrals
- Support positive school climate initiatives and contribute to crisis intervention efforts as needed
- Participate in IEP and 504 meetings, documenting progress and recommendations
