An exciting contract opportunity is available for a dedicated School Social Worker. Based near Ypsilanti, MI, and serving Dearborn, this position begins as soon as possible and runs through the end of the school year. Youll work full-time, from 8am to 3pm, providing essential support and intervention to students in both general and special education settings. Collaboration is at the heart of this role, as youll work closely with another school social worker to collectively manage a caseload of approximately 15 students.

Qualifications & Certifications:

• Current Michigan School Social Worker (MI SSW) license required
• Previous social work experience in a school setting preferred
• Strong understanding of social-emotional learning and behavioral interventions
• Ability to communicate effectively with students, staff, and families
• Compassionate, resourceful, and adaptable

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct assessments and provide group or individual counseling services
• Develop and implement intervention strategies tailored for a diverse student body
• Collaborate with teachers, special education staff, and administration to support student achievement and well-being
• Work with families to offer resources and strategies for student support outside of school
• Maintain accurate records in compliance with school and state requirements
• Split caseload of approximately 15 students with another school social worker
