Job Description

This full-time School Social Worker position is based in Woonsocket, RI, supporting a high school caseload for the upcoming contract school year. The role is ideal for professionals who are dedicated to providing social, emotional, and behavioral support to high school students, helping them overcome challenges that impact their academic and personal success.

Responsibilities include:

  • Conducting individual and group counseling sessions with students to address social and emotional concerns.
  • Collaborating with teachers, administrators, families, and community agencies to develop intervention strategies.
  • Assessing student needs and providing crisis intervention when necessary.
  • Assisting with attendance improvement plans and addressing barriers to student engagement.
  • Developing and implementing prevention and wellness programs tailored to high school students.
  • Maintaining accurate and confidential records of student interactions and progress in compliance with regulations.

Desired qualifications:

  • Masters degree in social work or related field.
  • Licensure as a School Social Worker or equivalent certification.
  • Experience working with adolescent populations in an educational setting.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively partner with students, families, and school staff.
  • Ability to manage a high school caseload efficiently while prioritizing urgent student needs.
  • Familiarity with community resources and referral processes.
