Desired Skills & Experience:
- Valid licensure as a School Social Worker or eligibility for Kansas credentialing
- Previous experience working with children and adolescents in educational settings
- Strong knowledge of counseling techniques, crisis intervention, and trauma-informed care
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and organizational skills
- Ability to build rapport with students from diverse backgrounds
- Familiarity with IEPs, 504 plans, and special education processes is a plus
- Demonstrated skill in conflict resolution and group facilitation
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct support services to students individually and in groups, supporting emotional, behavioral, and social development
- Conduct needs assessments and develop appropriate intervention plans
- Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and families to address barriers to student success and well-being
- Participate in multidisciplinary teams and help facilitate the implementation of IEPs and other support plans
- Serve as a resource for crisis intervention, prevention programs, and mental health education
- Advocate for students and connect families to community resources as needed
- Maintain documentation and adhere to all ethical and legal standards
