A contract opportunity is available in Whittier, CA for experienced Social Workers and Marriage and Family Therapists to provide school-based services during the 2025-2026 school year. This role supports children and youth within a single school setting, delivering direct and indirect social work services as part of a dedicated team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage a caseload of approximately 20-25 students with various social-emotional needs
- Deliver SEL (Social-Emotional Learning) presentations in classroom settings
- Oversee and manage the schools wellness center
- Provide crisis intervention and support for students in need
- Participate in administrative duties and paid team meetings to collaborate on student progress
Qualifications and Experience:
- Valid California ACSW or LCSW, AMFT or LMFT, or PPSC SSW credential required
- Minimum of 1 year experience working with children and youth, preferably within a school environment
- Strong understanding of school-based social work and therapeutic practices
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
- Willingness to attend all in-person interviews as part of the hiring process
Additional Information:
- Position requires 35 hours per week (7 hours per day)
- Contract duration begins as soon as possible and extends through June 5, 2026
- Administrative support and dedicated therapy space are provided
- Indirect administrative time and paid team meetings are included
- This is a long-standing contract with opportunities for renewal based on performance
