As a dedicated school social worker, youll collaborate with educators, families, and community resources to help students overcome challenges and reach their highest potential.
Key Qualifications:
- Hold a valid social work license or certification suitable for school settings
- Experience working with children and teenagers across multiple educational levels (elementary, middle, and high school)
- Knowledge of behavioral intervention strategies and crisis management
- Strong communication and active listening skills, able to engage effectively with students, parents, and staff
- Compassionate, adaptable, and culturally responsive
- Familiarity with school systems, Individualized Education Programs (IEPs), and special education services is a plus
Core Responsibilities:
- Conduct assessments and develop intervention plans tailored to individual student needs
- Provide counseling and support services to students experiencing academic, social, or emotional challenges
- Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and families to develop strategies for student success
- Coordinate with community agencies to connect students and families with outside resources
- Participate in team meetings, contribute to IEPs, and advocate for appropriate services and accommodations
- Facilitate group activities and workshops focused on social-emotional learning and mental health awareness
