Job Description

Key Qualifications:

  • Masters degree in Social Work from an accredited program
  • Current state licensure as a School Social Worker (or ability to obtain)
  • Previous experience working with children and adolescents in educational settings preferred
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to work with students, families, and educators
  • Compassionate, patient, and culturally responsive approach

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct counseling and support services to students with diverse needs, including social, emotional, and behavioral challenges
  • Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and parents to develop and implement individualized intervention plans
  • Connect families with community resources and services as needed
  • Assist in crisis intervention, conflict resolution, and preventative programming
  • Maintain confidential and accurate records in line with school and district policy
  • Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and contribute to IEP/504 processes as relevant
  • Offer training and guidance to school staff on issues related to mental health and student well-being
