Desired Skills and Experience:

  • Valid licensure as a School Social Worker or eligibility for state certification
  • Experience working within a school setting or with school-aged children
  • Strong understanding of child and adolescent development
  • Familiarity with crisis intervention, conflict resolution, and de-escalation strategies
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently while contributing to a multidisciplinary team

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide individual and group counseling to students facing behavioral, emotional, or social challenges
  • Conduct assessments to identify students in need of support and develop appropriate action plans
  • Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and families to create a supportive learning environment
  • Serve as a resource for crisis management and referral to outside agencies as needed
  • Advocate for students wellbeing and ensure access to necessary social services
  • Participate in meetings regarding student education plans and interdisciplinary collaboration
