Job Description

This position offers an exciting opportunity for a licensed School Social Worker to support students from kindergarten through 5th grade at an onsite school location in Waukegan, IL. The role is contracted for the 2026-2027 school year, providing a full-time schedule of 37.5 hours per week. The ideal candidate will be dedicated to fostering a positive and supportive environment that promotes students' social, emotional, and behavioral well-being.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct social work services to students with a caseload of K-5th grade students
  • Conduct assessments, develop intervention plans, and collaborate with school staff and families to address students social and emotional needs
  • Offer crisis intervention and support services when necessary
  • Advocate for students' welfare and connect families to community resources
  • Maintain accurate documentation and comply with all relevant policies and regulations

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Valid Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with a School Social Worker (SSW) endorsement
  • Experience working with elementary school populations preferred
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with educators, administrators, families, and community partners
