This contract position offers the opportunity to provide direct intervention support to special education students, both in small group settings and one-on-one, tailored to their unique needs. The role serves a range of grade levels (K-12), with assignments matched to current school openings and could include elementary, middle, or high school caseloads.
Qualifications:
- Masters degree in social work from an accredited institution
- Current and valid Michigan State Social Worker license through LARA
- Full Approval or School Social Worker Certificate from the Michigan Department of Education, or SSW 310 credential letter and active application with the MDE
- Experience working with school-aged children, preferably in educational settings
- Demonstrated ability to develop and implement intervention strategies for diverse learners
- Strong communication, organization, and collaboration skills
Responsibilities:
- Deliver group and individual support interventions to students with special education needs
- Collaborate with educators, families, and other professionals to create and implement effective support plans
- Document services and progress in accordance with school guidelines
- Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to the development of educational programs for assigned students
- Maintain confidentiality and adhere to state and federal regulations
