Job Description

A full-time school social worker position is available to support high school students in Warwick, RI. This contract role is aligned with the current school year and focuses on addressing the social, emotional, and behavioral needs of students to enhance their educational experience. The ideal candidate will have experience managing a high school caseload and collaborating with educators, families, and community resources to promote student well-being and academic success.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide individual and group social work services to high school students facing personal, social, or behavioral challenges.
  • Assess student needs and develop intervention plans aligned with educational goals.
  • Collaborate with teachers, counselors, and families to support student development and address barriers to learning.
  • Facilitate crisis intervention and connect students to community resources as needed.
  • Maintain accurate records and comply with district and state regulations regarding confidentiality and mandated reporting.

Qualifications:

  • Masters degree in Social Work (MSW) from an accredited institution.
  • Valid license to practice social work in Rhode Island.
  • Experience working within a high school setting managing a diverse student caseload.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills to effectively engage students, staff, and families.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
